Australian Food Culture
Australian Food is renowned as being one of the best in the world for a wonderful variety of foods. Australian food culture is quite vast, and it's often said that you can't find a single dish that isn't Australian. The sheer variety of the Australian food chain is truly amazing. There are so many different types of foods that you might get confused as to which ones you actually should get.
Let's start with what I'd consider to be the" classics". These are dishes that have been around for generations. Australia has a long history when it comes to preparing and cooking food. A lot of the Australian way of cooking dates back even before the British Empire. This, of course, included using a great variety of ingredients.
Now, one of the best ways to enjoy this delicious cuisine is to make your own. If you're an ardent fan of the traditional ingredients and techniques then this certainly can be a fantastic way to keep those old favorite recipes around. If you're not much of a cook then you can also buy ready-made mixes from most health stores or supermarkets.
Breakfast in a Tin Can
One of the most popular dishes is "Breakfast in a Tin Can". This can be cooked with a variety of ingredients. For example you can use bacon, eggs, tomatoes, spices, herbs and any other things you'd like. The beauty is that this can easily be adjusted to whatever tastes that you might fancy. Many people find this to be an excellent introduction to cooking for kids because it doesn't require a lot of fancy equipment.
"Eggs aren't the only thing that'll keep you warm on a winter morning". It is absolutely true that eggs are great if you want to keep yourself topped up all day long. But there are many other options available. For example, if you are feeling lazy then you can always try steamed vegetables. You can have baked potatoes and carrots, if you like. Sprinkle some nutritional bars into the mix if you want and you will have a meal that is full of nutrition and that your guests will be left wondering what you had for dinner!
"What about the sausage?" There are plenty of delicious recipes available for this. It is very easy to cook and to do so cheaply. You could of course make your own sausage but why spend time and money when you can buy ready-made sausage from a grocery store? If you have a good set of metal spatula then it isn't too difficult to mix your own ingredients.
"Are there tomatoes in Australia?". Of course there are. Tomatoes are extremely versatile and can be mixed with many different ingredients. So don't limit yourself, instead check out the recipes section to find a few recipes for tomato based foods that you can try.
These are just three of the many ways you can incorporate foods from overseas into your pure Australian breakfast food. Don't be afraid to be creative, and experiment. It is after all, your food. If you don't like it, you don't have to make excuses or simply send it back. You can always come back to it again and enjoy its delicious taste.
The next step is to decide on what type of meat you want to have on your pure Australian breakfast food. Do you want it plain, with just some vegetables? Or would you rather have something a little more adventurous? There are many different types of game such as lamb, beef, chicken and even turkey. It really depends on what your personal taste is, as well as the number of people you are cooking for.
For a simple but hearty meal, roasted chicken mixed with vegetables and a small amount of wine will be perfect. For a full meal that you can enjoy, you can include beef and vegetables. However, if you are looking for something a bit more interesting, why not try steamed or baked eggs? Simply mix a few eggs, butter and flour together to make a very tasty dish.
It's important to make sure you have the pure Australian breakfast food suitable for all your guests. Many people eat out, so you may not even have to worry about that. However, it is still important to keep in mind what your guests can and cannot eat. If you are eating out, think about whether or not you can go without chips, sausages, or any of the other ingredients normally found in a traditional meal. It would also be smart to pack bread to eat at home, as this can make a difference between a pure Australian breakfast and one that has too many unhealthy ingredients.
